Saturday at dusk, around 7:00 pm, enjoy a parade of lighted barges between the trestle and the lagoon. Due to safety concerns, there is no access to the trestle during the parade.
Float builders who wish to light up a barge must pre-register with the Parade Chair at (831) 428-9875 or by filling out this form. Barges are provided for the first entrants who pay their refundable $100 fee. See parade guidelines. Our theme this year is “VACATION SNAPSHOTS!”.
Each float team can nominate a non-profit charity of their choice. Charity Awards are granted for the 1st ($1000), 2nd ($750), and 3rd ($500) place winners.
All float builders must sign the liability waiver form (get it here). Those under 18 must have a parent signature.
This year we had to build 5 new barges that had been damaged over the years. We would like to thank De Mattei Construction for donating the wood, the City of Capitola Public Works for making the site available to us, and to the volunteers who devoted their Saturday to making this possible.
